Take control of your career with strategies for resume building and career success.

We have all been there...the struggle to figure out our resume and changing it endlessly. What are the rules for putting one together that will get you noticed? How do you stand out in a pile of resumes? I'm no expert that is why I leaned on the support and knowledge of the experts in the field of job search and career management.

In reality, your resume is the single most important document you will own when it comes to your financial abilities. So let's make it one that is unforgettable for all of the right reasons!

Start by having a single focus. A resume that has a clear focus and outlines relevant skills that you bring to the table will work in your favor. No one wants to read something that is all over the place and will most likely end up with only a 6 second glance and thrown in the trash 🗑.

Recruiters usually do two scans of resumes but in order to get to the second scan, you have to make it past the first one. Visual accessibility, meaning the outline is easy to read and not overcrowded, includes relevant keywords and key 🔑 phrases will get you to that second read. The second read is where recruiters review if your resume reflects skills and competencies required for the job. This will be the deciding point wether you will get that interview or not.

In order to get a better understanding of what the employers prioritize, search job openings for your desired job and find requirements that are common to all listings. Do this process for the skills, experiences, deliverables, and professional behaviors that are listed on the postings. You will incorporate these into your resume sections.

Now, onto the actual resume building. Below, you will find an example of what your resume might look like to be effective in portraying a clear, professional, and relevant message.

Other quick tips:

- Save your resume with a title that's effective such as "Registered Nurse/ABCCorp.doc".

- Never put contact information in the header/footer as some software cannot read those.

- If you must bullet items in your resume, stick to bullets and stay away from arrows, check marks, because some systems will not recognize them and therefore alter your format.

Hope this was helpful! I am confident that you will get your dream job and bring in that 💰.

Stay blessed,

Nurse Agnieszka 💗
